Frequently Asked Questions
Learn how our browser sandbox, dedicated studio subscriptions, and export credit model work.
Each Printasy studio operates as an independent software environment with dedicated subscriptions and credit pools. For example, a subscription to Printasy UV Studio grants access and credits specifically for UV Studio tools (Banners, Canvas, Relief, WindowGrafX). To use DTF Studio or ScreenSeparations, a separate subscription is required.
Preparing, uploading, configuring parameters, auto-nesting, and inspecting your artwork in our real-time interactive browser preview is 100% free and unlimited. Credits are only deducted when you perform a final production export (such as downloading the production-ready TIFF, multilayer PDF, or cutter plotter file). Credit consumption varies depending on the specific application parameters.
You never get locked out of your production workflow. If you exceed your included monthly credits during a peak production season, you can purchase additional credit packs in bundles of 100 credits directly from your studio dashboard at discounted tier rates.
No. Most Printasy prepress operations (including alpha contour generation, grommet collision math, and TrueNest calculations) run directly inside your client browser using WebAssembly and WebGL. Your proprietary customer artwork and high-res vector graphics remain private on your local machine.
Selecting annual billing gives you 2 full months free of charge (you pay for 10 months and receive 12 months of active service and monthly credit allocations), providing a ~16.67% direct cost saving.
Printasy exports universal standard production formats: Layered TIFFs, ISO-standard multi-page PDFs, and EPS/DXF cut paths. We feature proven presets for Roland DG, Mimaki, swissQprint, Canon Arizona/Colorado, Epson, Brother, Caldera, Onyx, Summa, and Graphtec.
